Singer Babz is a fully formed dancehall/reggae recording and performing artist in full command of his craft, identity and music with a combination of melodic irresistibility and lyrical incisiveness that have become his hallmarks. His music style is so captivating and moving and heralds the arrival of a gifted and significant new talent, one whose music feels familiar in the very best way possible, while striking out on its own territory.

A Kenyan boy who grew up in the coastal island of Mombasa, Singer Babz attended church on a regular basis and was a choir member from early childhood and everyone around him could notice a big artist in him so he went for that,taking music seriously from his early years in high school. He explains” I started writing songs in my head and it took my interest in music to another level. I had to pick up the church piano so I could cut the music to the ideas in my head and sometimes I would time the ending parts of already recorded music where the instrumental flows freely and fix my own composition , and due to immense pressure from within me and my close friends  I finally hit the then kelele records where I did my first recording with one of my friends , a song titled (Machozi  ya damu ) Swahili word for bloody tears ” Almost immediately they formed a two man band and began playing in local coffee shops and bars going through what he calls, “ the typical high-school lifestyle “ He was not interested in anything he did other than music and loved the wide openness of his life.

He later linked up with his two  closest friends  Vincent and Cedric and formed RE-UNION ENTERTAINMENT where he got the drive and inspiration to change from Swahili style to dancehall /reggae and has since featured in several  Jamaican made dancehall riddims with the most popular of them being the split personality riddim that featured top dancehall acts like Mavado , Gwhizz , Future Fambo , I-Octane among others , his  song in this riddim   was called “ dancehall night” . He has major hits well know to his fans like Tonight, Love games and Mi alone which have received great response not only in his country Kenya but also internationally owing to his active presence on the internet with an aggressive support team using YUTUBE and social networks such as Twitter and Facebook to reach out to dancehall fans worldwide.

Singer Babz is an unsigned artist working with several production houses and producers among the Ark Angel of Ark Angel Records Nairobi, Corey Fadajam and Kelvin Kroniqs. He is also has close ties with several Jamaican based production houses like  Cashflow , Chimney , IMG  and Big ship through the help of popular Jamaican promoter Stampede Lammie of Stampede Street Chart promotions.

Singer Babz currently commands a huge fan base amongst Mombasa youths and has earned a new title “PORT BOY” which in itself is a next hit song you should look out for. He has held several stage performances across Kenya and working extra hard for a lucrative music career.
